Why I Use the Heart in Life Coaching

Why do you bring the heart into Life Coaching?

This is a question I frequently get asked. I am so thrilled to be able to share some answers.

As you work with coaching clients, you will find that they come for a variety of reasons.

They may be:

  • Struggling to create and manifest what they want
  • Facing challenges in their life that they can’t find the answers to
  • Trying to move forward but are hitting barriers
  • Lacking direction, purpose and passion in their life
  • Struggling in relationships
  • Wanting to overcome negative thinking or false beliefs
  • Stuck in unwanted habits
  • Struggling to accept the past and forgive others

The heart adds so much to solving the problems that we face:

There is power in the heart that can’t be found anywhere else—Love is the most powerful force in creation. The emotion and feeling of love poured into anything you try to manifest will amplify the results.

Remember the book, “The Secret”? It is a self-help book that explores the law of attraction, claiming that positive thinking can bring about life-changing results by attracting desired outcomes through the universe. It’s impact on the world was profound sparking a global phenomenon and cultural shift influencing millions to embrace positive thinking as a transformative tool.

Do you know what the sequel to “The Secret” is? It is called “The Power” and it is all about the heart. In “The Power,” Byrne explores the transformative power of love. The book asserts that love is the force behind all things and that tapping into this power can lead to happiness, health and success. Not only are the emotions of the feeling or spiritual heart powerful, the physical heart is incredible.

HeartMath studies show this powerful electromagnetic field can be detected and measured several feet away from a person’s body and between two individuals in close proximity.

The heart, like the brain, generates a powerful electromagnetic field, McCraty explains in The Energetic Heart. “The heart generates the largest electromagnetic field in the body. The electrical field as measured in an electrocardiogram (ECG) is about 60 times greater in amplitude than the brain waves recorded in an electroencephalogram (EEG).”

HeartMath studies show this powerful electromagnetic field can be detected and measured several feet away from a person’s body and between two individuals in close proximity.

The heart is the most powerful part of who we are – physically, energetically, emotionally.

There is a wisdom from the heart that can’t be found anywhere else. We most often go to our mind for answers. The challenge is, the mind is subject to many influences: our doubts, our fears, our anxiety, our ego, etc. An answer from the mind has had to wade through many of these filters and when searching for truth – these answers are often diluted or distorted.

The heart is our record keeper of the truth of our lives. The heart can only speak to us in truth. The answers are simple. They are quiet. They are uplifting. They are full of peace. Heart answers encourage us. Heart answers guide and direct us with wisdom far beyond our mental state.

When we learn how to tap into and listen to the heart, we have found a powerful source of knowing within ourself. Better than google.

When someone is lacking passion or purpose, they have likely disconnected from their heart. Our heart holds our connection to our soul. Restoring the heart connection will help people find their passion and purpose again.

Unwanted habits or addictions are often the result of trying to numb something we feel pain about—the heart can tell us when the pain began in our life and has the ability to assist us in solving all of these problems.

Bob Proctor taught that 95% of our thoughts are unconscious. The conscious mind represents only 5% of our thoughts. While the mind can help us solve our conscious concerns, it is the unconscious mind that controls many of our habits, thoughts and behaviors. It is difficult to solve these unconscious problems with the mind. It is the heart that has the power to access and affect the change we desire in the unconscious mind.

The heart is our connection to God, the Creator of this Universe. While I am able to create many things, my resources are limited. When I connect to God in creation, and co-create with Him, I am tapping into unlimited resources.

We feel God’s presence in our hearts. That connection can bring in infinite love to support us in our lives. His wisdom, mercy, kindness, encouragement and grace elevate us and give us confidence and hope to move forward in our lives.

At the Heart Coach Institute, the process you will be taught for life coaching will be built on the foundation of ICF Standard Life Coaching practices. Once obstacles or challenges are discovered, we can use the heart to find resolution.

Thinking about all of this, imagine now helping a client find answers to manifest what they truly desire. The heart can help them find the soul connection to know what their highest and most authentic self truly desires. As they face challenges and barriers in the creation process, the heart can help you discern truth, get answers to questions that seem unsolvable, and bring power into the creative process.

With so much to offer you and your clients, my question to wrap us is, “Why would you coach without the heart?” For me – I wouldn’t dream of it!
